Curse of the Night Hag: A 9th Level Adventure for 5th Edition

$4.99

Agatha the night hag has long called the swampy forests outside of Blackmoor home. Cruel yet fair, she offers her services to those in need... though often at a terrible price. Many years ago, a curse of infertility swept through Blackmoor. Stillbirths plagued the villagers and the future of the settlement was uncertain. Luckily for its residents, Agatha came to the rescue. The night hag promised a plethora of healthy babies, but in return, she wanted the first born child from each family. With no other options, and fearful of a future without young ones to care for them, the villagers agreed.

Seemingly overnight, all the women of the village found themselves with child, and nine months later, a slew of births filled the village with the sounds of infants coming into the world. For a time, the people of Blackmoor were happy. They raised their children with love and care and some eventually forgot about their promise to the old hag in the woods. But she did not forget. She waited until the time was right and the stars aligned. Then, she ensorcelled the young children all under the bright light of a harvest moon and they each found their way out of their beds and into the forest to Agatha's front stoop.

The next morning, the townsfolk awoke in horror to find their first born children gone. Some raced about calling out for them, while others simply wallowed in their grief knowing the hag was to blame and there was nothing they could do to stop her. When a band of adventurers found themselves in the grieving village, the town's mayor approached them and sought their help. Bring back their children, and they'll be paid a hefty reward. With time running out, hope is failing, and if the children aren't recovered soon, who knows what terrible fate will befall them.
