The Skies of Dragon Song Valley: A 6th Level Adventure for 5th Edition
The Dragon Song valley was once home to a vicious red dragon named Xalriss. The creature spent her days searching the valley for prey, singing a terrible song as she went and giving the valley its moniker. For decades, no village, town, or hamlet was safe from her wrath and hunger. When she was finally slain, the residents of the valley rejoiced and celebrations were held. Peace reigned over the valley for a full year before the scavengers came to pick at the remains of Xalriss' territory. First came the kobolds. Seeking magic items to empower their tribe, they moved into a small abandoned village once razed by Xalriss and began searching through the cave that the dragon had called home for left over treasure. They found a few trinkets, but the arrival of another threat forced them to raid nearby settlements and passersby instead. The next threat was a wyvern, hoping to prey upon the creatures that Xalriss had once terrorized. It began attacking passing caravans, groups of livestock, and even the occasional unlucky hunter out on his own. Finally, as if things weren't getting hard enough, a local lord demanded a tax be paid from the dragon's hoard. Unfortunately for the residents of the valley, the hero who slew the dragon had long since left with the treasure, so now they face the wrath of an angry noble. Now, the valley is in turmoil. The kobolds and wyvern threaten the lives of everyone in the valley and, unless the lord receives his tax, the livelihoods of the valley's residents are at risk as well.
